Worth it?

Found this 91 3000gt for 500 bucks. Obviously it is going to need a lot of work. Guy said it sat for 4 years and i need to know what it would usually take to get it running again. I will probably offer something like 350 cash.

That car needs A LOT of work. Shit starts to rust when it sits for that long, and it doesn't even look like it was clean when it was parked. Especially with no title, I'd personally pass. That being said, I'd assume it needs a new motor with the water/coolant sitting stagnant in there for 4 years. Probably rusting from the inside out. Obviously battery, full set of tires, pads, rotors, radiator, most likely got some pests/rodents and so on. Ask why they parked it.

i dont think that car is worth restoring. The cost to make it road worthy would probably cost more than one that was already road worthy, unless you have the skill to do all of the labor yourself. Is the car worth $500? easily.... you could part a few body panels and get your money back.

To repair? - absolutely not, complete waste of time.
To part out? - could make a few bucks, but it's no gold mine.

Agreed. If you have the space... buy it, part it and use that money to pick one up in better condition. Otherwise... f that.
