Picked this up a little while back as I was in the middle of purchasing a friends 500hp awd 2g (he blew the engine) so I picked this up with a good motor to use in the 2g and part out the rest of the stuff I didnt need to make some of the $$ back but now I've got to part ways as I just found out a few days ago i'm going to be a daddy and need to clear out some projects. So if you're in the market for a awd 2g Talon I will be parting ways with it shortly once I get a list together of everything it has like DSMlink, Precision SC61, etc all the goodies to make some serious hp! But anyways sorry for the rambling I will get on to the details of this car...
First, the bad - I believe the car has a broken 3-4 shift fork. Only 2nd & 4th gear work on the tranny. I've gone through everything external to the transmission, so I'm weighing whether to sell it or spring for a transmission rebuild. Engine also developed a slight miss from when it was sitting to do the swap, still fires up great and doesnt smoke etc. Price is negotiable so shoot me some offers.
Now, the good. The car has a fairly low mileage GVR-4 "Cyclone" engine from Japan. It runs great, has a new timing belt, and also has the desirable dual runner intake system.
Upgrades/Modifications/New OEM parts:
Suspension/Chassis:
- RX7 FD3S 16x8 lightweight wheels with new(er) BFG tires
- NEW Bilstein shocks on all four corners
- Stainless steel brake lines throughout
- 12" Misubishi "big brakes" upgrade (all OEM parts)
Engine:
- Stock engine internals
- GM 3" MAF and MAFT Translator
- EVO III 16G turbo (genuine part, not chinese ebay garbage)
- Supra sidemount intercooler
- Hard upper intercooler pipe
- Genuine HKS SSQV BOV
- Walbro 255 lph fuel pump
- Full 3" exhaust with high flow cat and flat back Vibrant muffler (stock appearance, passes emissions no problem)
- Freshly detailed engine compartment
Drivetrain:
- ACT 2600 clutch and pressure plate
- Brand new (0 miles) clutch fork, pivot ball, stainless clutch line and slave cylinder
- All rubber bushings eliminated from shifter setup
Body/Interior:
- Original paint has the DSM "fade", could use a respray - color is a more rare dark metallic green
- Interior is almost 100% stock and complete, only addition is an Autometer boost gauge
