Thread: Cracked manifold

  1. #1

    Default Cracked manifold

Problem is this is the second time the 1999 Protege LX 1.6L 5-speed has had a cracked or broken manifold. The first was the original that cracked at 109K and was replaced with an aftermarket manifold from 1aauto. Now less than 2 yrs later it has broken completely. Other than using another from this autoparts seller? What have others done? Would trying to find one from a parts yard be better?

Junkyard would probably be cheaper(pull a part), but your problem would probably return later down the road. Post some pics so we can see where the manifold broke.
