Default 91 EF sedan cuts off!??!

My baby is going through a struggle right now. I know it's not the prettiest thing on the road but with 260k on the odometer and ticking she looks damn good to me.

I hit a deer and cracked my radiator. After riding a little too hot a few times I fixed the radiator but the valve cover gaskets were shot cause I had oil all over the spark plugs and wires. We got most of the oil out and replaced the gaskets and plugs but not once I drive the at for about a few miles it dies. It's not the battery. It feels like a detonation issue. It'll putt-putt and backfire then cut off and won't tart for a few hours.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Did you make sure the coolant system was purged of all air after fixing ? Also check your plugs to make sure they are in order and check to see if the oil is bad around the socket seal. Oil making contact with an open wire or spark even if you don't see one can cause a misfire easy. Did these models have a collant temp switch if so check the switch it may be stuck or burn out if ran hot.

7 day work weeks suck. Finally got some time today to work on it. A friend of mine noticed my heater hose was leaking and we think it might be spraying coolant on my distributor! Hopefully once I swap out the leaky hose with a new one everything will be working properly.
