Default 99 accord F23.....idle when stoppin issue and trans question?

99 LX accord 4dr F23......replaced wires and plugs (all ngk) about 10k ago (just maintance nothing really wrong)....got two symptoms that have slowly gotten worse

when driving everything is pretty much ok, but if u stop really quick the car trys to die/stall u can pop the gas and keep it goin. or if your are in park and rev it up high when it idles down it idles down too far and trys to stall.....? ive been getn randomly, a multi miss fire code CEL goes on and off for this all by its self......im thinking dizzy, or maybe fuel filter or O2 sensor....idk....also if u try and punch it the cars just sputters

trans question- 1st gear started slippin a while back after research i found out the this yr/mdle accord has a horrible trannys, so ive been keepin the fluid changed about every 6k and it really seems to keep the life in it, but its starting to slip in all gears.....this has got me thinking that maybe its not as internal as i was thinking (was thinking syncros in 1st were bad) and could just be the torque conv. since its now same symptom in every gear......but im not a tranny man so not sure on my logic here.......any help would be awesome.....ive got to change the axles soon so was thinking about throw'n in a torque conv. but if its justa waste of time then i wont....?

    thanks

as far as the tranny, changing torque converter wont fix the problem. the transmission is going out, start looking for a replacement.

engine problems, try cleaning the IAC ( idle air control vavle ) to see if that helps with the idling issue. as far as the random miss fire, might wanna to start looking a the crank position sensor. its behind the plastic timing cover.
    About to approach beast mode

The three things involved in keeping the engine running properly are: Air, Fuel, and Spark. If any of them has been altered, then this will throw the idle off. Check if your spark plugs are gapped accordingly to spec, and spark plug wires are in the correct order on the distributor. Next check, if your grounds to and from the engine are clean. If this not the issue, then listen to the engine. You probably have a air leak somewhere. Probably an air vacuum line, or even the intake manifold gasket. You might to grab a can or carb cleaner and spray a mist around the upper half of the intake manifold chamber and vacuum lines leading to the intake manifold. If you hear a change in the idle, you have a leak.

If you have the chance, clean the IACV, the EGR Valve and inner area of the throttle body with carb cleaner and a good brush (i find using a tooth brush worked good). And wipe the excess gunk with a shop rag. The good thing about the F23 motors is that you can take the top half of intake manifold off. There are series of bolts around the top. And with the EGR Valve, theres a passage way where its connected to that usually gets clogged over time. You might want to clean that too. Use a metal wire or thin pipe cleaner.

This is what i mean about the intake manifold being top removable. I cleaned my IACV a while back, and it solved my CEL and idle problems. But im not saying that it will work for you tho.

This where the EGR Valve sits, the ports usually get clogged over time.

This the inside of top half of Intake manifold, it was gunked and blacked out. This is after cleaning it. The IACV on behind the intake manifold top half, pictured below.
