    Default thinking turbo.... not sure

Whats up ia.. I recently bought a d15b7 looking to boost it.. It ran when it was pulled so i was wondering and just looking for some advise on builds and other stuff. Im doin this build kinfa on a budget.. Im not wanting a cam i was just thinking vitara pistons eagle rods block guard and arp head studds... Should i do anything else internally for a reliable daily motor for whatever i end up putting it in..

Sounds like a good start. Even on a d15b7 you can run ~200whp with a good tune if you'd like with stock engine. I'd really recommend doing a mini-me and throwing a vtec head on if you're going to build the engine anyway.

Yeah i was thinking bout doin a mini me just wasnt sure about vtec and boost... Ive got a friend who is bout to swap his hatch and has a y7 in it... Should i get that block from him or just keep the b7... The motor is most likly goin to go in some sort of an ef.. And if i was to do mini me swap which would be the better head y8 or the z6?

The y7 is a 1.6 block so displacement wise it may be a better choice. Im personally a fan of the Z6 head with a y8 intake manifold.

Why would VTEC matter with boost? It just allows better lift/duration.

This. y7 with a z6 head is your best bet.
