High RPM
Hey, just bought me a 95 Civic EG with a B16A1 engine. Well, I am use to driving diesels and manual trucks. My question is when I am riding down the interstate my RPMs seem to be to high. When I cruise about 80 my RPM are about 4500. Is this normal, and When I try to hit 100 I am about red lining. I just don't know if my RPM are suppose to be this high. If everything is normal then fine, I am just wondering. Thanks. Oh yeah and the tranny is a 5 speed GSR.

That sounds about right. They run high as hell.

You could try swapping in an ls transmission, they have longer gears and would reduce the rpms at cruising speeds.

No problem

This is completely normal for gsr/b16/type-r trans, they are geared super short to keep the engine in its power range and not drop out of vtec between gear shifts.
