    Default now something different

    ugh...sooo tired of car problems...

    so i am driving home on 316,going bout 80 @ 4K rpm in5th, and suddenly the car(92prelud2.3) loses power. The accelerator has like no power, pumping it yields no response. suddenly, it returns back to normal, followed by suddering and the car shutting off...i crank the car back up and it drives normal for half a second then all power is lost and i have to pull over...i have the air blasting but no ac or heat like usual, but i smell that burnt electrical smell from the vents, i know something is blown...

    sat there for a while till AAA guy(same guy from last time) towed me home.
    shes homes safe.

    where do i start?
    im suspecting fuel related issues
    i own a voltmeter so i that may help

    so this morning..i checked all the fuses in the underhood-fusebox..and they all looked good...battery tested out fine..

    so im like..lemme put 1 gallon of gas in it

    she started rite up...
    but what a minute!!!
    monday..i punched it in 3rd and the car gas cut out..luckily i was able to pull into shell and fill up..i put in 4 gallons of gas and then drove 50 miles or so after that no problem

    then it happened again yesterday...
    i had gas in the car...dont see or suspect a leak...

    Sounds like she's out of fuel each time.. what does the gas hand read when this happens?

    dizzy is going out
    sounds just like what was happening to my old ls
    it spuder or goes quite randomly, sometimes you'll drive all day and it wont act up.

    Definitely sounds like ignition coil / distributor related

    My gas guage went out...its the digital one and i need to buy another.

    i had a very similar problem with my dizzy in my d16y8 in my civic days..it gave me hell but its dying process took a week long!!

    just an update...

    i have not take the car out on the highways yet...too scared
    however, she will no longer display any signs of anything being wrong or off..just drove thru the subdivision @ all rpms and gears...nothing!

    the car stopped on the side of the road and sputtered before she died on tuesday...idk where to point fingers and replace
    however i put 1 gallon of gas in and everythings good all of a sudden...

    either theres something wrong with some part in their (e.g. fuel pump or dizzy)
    or that shell gas station sold me 4 gallons of air on my empty tank...

    also my fuel/temp guage does not work so idk how much gas ive got in it..
    so much for hondas digital guage...if u read into its failure on google,
    you'll learn that it was meant to go burn out due to its design
    lol w/e

    why don't you just fill the gas tank, and fill it every 250 miles?

    been doing that...
    i dont think the reason this car "died" that day was the lack of gas
    i mean there WAS gas in the tank!!
    and even tho the digital gas guage doesnt work, the fillup warnng light is still functional...

    i dont even wanna put gas in the car...what if i fill it up, and it suddenly dies again on the way home

    thinking bout buying a brand new dizzy and fuel pump with my next check...
    but then what if that is NOT the problem...ugh..

    U have fried something under the dash, I would check the ecu. And all the wiring under the dash.

    because when the car "died"
    i smelt that burnt electrical smell coming thru the vents


    last time i smelt that was when my fuel/temp guage capacitor went out

    im gonna need to take time out to do this....
    car starts up just fine btw and acts like nothing happened.

    update:
    so i like wanting to give up on the car..but idk
    so i crank her up today
    cranks right up
    everything good..
    but driving it up and down the street may have brought me a little closer to the issue @ hand

    as if my car is running out of gas, it sputters and wont accelerate.
    i really think this is a gas issue.

    i doubti ts a dizzy since ive experienced failing dizzy b4...
    but cant rule it out

    just checked fuel pump
    it is good
    filter was gushing fluid

    will a fuel pump work intermittantly?
    time to check dizzy i guess
