Default CEL is on. Need some help.

Alright so my car threw two codes today.

P0420 - catalyst system efficiency below threshold bank 1.

I'm assuming this is either my stock wideband O2 going out, or the Cat is going bad? Thoughts?

The second one I'm kinda puzzled and have no clue.

P1298 - (ELD) Electric Load Detector Circuit high input.

What would cause this? I dont even know where to look. I don't notice any differences of the car when it comes to driving. I did notice a slight smell inside the car when I did a little fun driving the other night. Other than that, nothing. Thanks for any help.

The car is an '02 EP3 civic.

You need a new Cat and a new ELD (inside your underhood fuse box)

I would double check the heater circuit of the o2 sensor, I have seen bad ones, or ones that shorted together cause Random codes like ELD.

ELD is in the fusebox under the hood.....
that i know of theres is no replacement part for it
i think you have to replace the whole fusebox.....
and o2 is either going bad and needs to be replaced or the wires must of
touch'd the exhaust and melted them together causing a bad reading

I hope not. Thanks for your help guys! I guess I'll start with the o2 and go from there.
