    Default Balance Shaft Removal

Anyone done it (srt4 guys should know) What did you think of it? I hear once you start making good numbers the chain can become quite the liability input would be nice.

Naa its not as hyped up as people say nor is it worth fucking around with for 3 more hp..plugging holes in the block and seven quarts of oil so the pressure is right...naaa no thanks..those plastic retainers are on the outsides of the chain and dont just come apart....the biggest worry with high WHP is the oil pump shitting the bed....

There is no need to remove the entire assembly. Drop the pan cut the chain with a pair of bolt cutters, re-install the cover plate because one of the bolts holds back oil pressure and your done. Keep the entire assembly mounted in place and you have no oil pressure issues or oil sloshing either. Oil capacity does no increase either. This works without a problem on both n/a and SRT 2.4 engines. The SRT is a little more of a pain with dropping the charging pipes and what not but if you have a couple of hours to burn do it.

It's not too difficult. Just get a windage tray. The car tends to vibrate a bit more as well.
