should i trade in my GTI.........

.........for an RX8? i love my car, but it's getting up there in miles and i may soon be working at a dealer and they mentioned a good trade in deal on my GTI for an RX, should i do it?? i know in the end its my decision, and it wont break my heart to keep my car, just wanted to know how you guys think the RX stacks up against the GTi.

rx8's should all burn together....those cars suck. my boy got an rx-8 and after drivin it for like 2 weeks...he wanted another car. Keep the gti...that things clean

RX8= saturn lookin 4 dr puke pile. They handle well, but everything does in Mazdas line for some reason....Like you said in the end its your call. I just think its ugly at every angle.

ok, i drove the RX8, and heres my thoughts:

Exterior: the Rx looks like a japanese anime car. with the right subtle bumper replacements and new tailights, it could be NICE looking. i like the general shape, but in person some of the angles are wierd. from the top it looks like a wiener. Ace and Gary steez..........

Interior: this is what really shines. sitting in it feels like a much more sporty and exotic car. the shifter feels really good and the steering is tight. the seats (i drove cloth) feel firm, but not hard.

my only complaint about the interior: in my car, i could have a siezure and punch everything in sight, and nothing be messed up. the RX8 interior would be a mess of broken plastic.

Driving: first thing i noticed, no low end torque. second thing, i was driving at 9k rpms

. brakes were nice, handling great. i was bummed that something that looked faster than my car wasnt. not a huge difference, but my car is faster by a small margin and has more low end torque.

overall, a very cool car but i think im sticking with my german girl. i think the car was a little to flagrant appearing to me

, and just wasnt worth the trade. the RX is a nice car, and im glad to have driven one, but it aint for me.

do the right thing trade it in on an AWD. you couldn't belive all the fun your missing.... not to mention that i am making more power now than i was w/ my gti and it was about 6 grand cheaper :boobies:

Man definately keep the gti. Rotaries are far from perfected. Torque is a problem too.
Also it's depressing when you have put time and money into a car and you get a bullshit offer. Up to you, but your gti's already a sweet car...

went to VW today and drove the new GTI DSG on a whim. damn if im not sold on that car. really is one of the best sporty front wheel drives out there, and that tranny.... :idb:

dubs are nice rides and with the right $ can be just as fast as any other make. but you need to do BT or built motors to make it... shit vr6t is no joke
