how hard and expensive is it to change an automatic to a manual.

and how hard is it to swap in a SR20.that comes with it's own tranny.

The 5spd swap is pretty easy to do. If you were to keep the ka and swap in the 5spd it will cost about $500 for all the parts.

thanks guys, i dont have the car yet but wanted to know, 'cuz all the good condition 240 that i find are auto, the manuals have usually been abused. thanks though, it seems that i can cope with the swap.

what is your level of skill? for me both are pretty easy and relatively cheap, but that doesn't mean that you'd be able to pull it off easily. everything is relative to what you can already do, not what someone else can do.
