    Default Im confused, Mustang guys please help.

    Could someone please explain why one would pay $60,000 for the new Shelby GT500. I have read 4 different car mags that have all said the thing is pretty much a pig that drives like it has no where near 500 hp. I thought it was supposed to have the same engine as a Ford GT wich has been proven to have as much as 50 more bhp than its advertised to have.

    60K? I thought it was like 45K? I'm sure though there are certain people who will pay above MSRP just because its a "Shelby" or whatever. I wouldn't buy one for sure. The 03-04 Cobras are better for the price.

    Somebody on Barrett Jackson paid $250,000 for the OPPURTUNITY to buy one... figure that? I wouldn't have one even for $40,000. All the 250k went to the Caroll Shelby cancer research foundation? or some shit like that....

    I would take an 04 Cobra over a new Shelby any day of the week....and I hate Fords.

    the msrp on those is close to 40k but they all are selling around 55-60k due to collectors value. the heads on the gt500 are the same as the ones on the ford gt, the entire motor are not the same though. fast car, no handling, and cheap interior like other mustangs

    yeah your basically just buying the name is really all......plus sometimes the person who writes the article or the magizine in which the article was written...they some times like to twist words because of their own personal opinion....

    the MSRP is 45k. i have a buddy(works at ford dealer) that took one for a drive and said it was the slowest 500hp car he has been in.
