    Default Failed emissions

If you fail emissions, is it true that you have to go back to the same guy that did the 1st emission test ?

I sold a car and the guy that bought it went to a shop and they failed him without even hooking the car up to the machine.

They are telling him that THEY have to fix it and he cant go somwherelse to get emissions.

The car is an OBD2 and has NO CODES... it doesnt make sense I think they want to screw him out of his cash and it gives me problems with him also.

I wanna take the car to my local emissions place(not a shop, only emissions)

when you fail the first time on the emissions, at the same place where you got it done the second time should be free.

You can go to a different location. You will just have to pay the $25 again. You do NOT have to go back to the same place to be retested, unless you want it for free.
