Default why did they swap my engine

I have a 97 civic ex and the mechanic i took it to today because it shakes at idle told me that they swapped from stock 1.6 to a 1.9 in my car and didnt do the motor mounts right and thats why it shakes (hack job)

can anyone tell me why they would have done the swap from 1.6 to just 1.9 and not have done a bigger swap?

your mechanic is a dumbass. WTF is a 1.9?? bigger swap would have been alot in a honda...so you went in for shaky idle and they replaced your motor? what shop is this

no it was shaking hard at idle and he told me the reason is shakes is because it had a swap and it was a hack job

he showed me the shitty motor mount...

but yeah basically im trying to see if he was feeding me a line of BS or what?

    edit-

i just realized i worded this thread wrong as hell, it was shaking already and they told me the reason it shakes is because the previous owner did a swap and it was a hack-job. the shop didnt swap my motor because it was shaking at idle

huh? Maybe it's bc it's 6am but can you start over?

The stock engine is a D16 right? and you claim a 1.9 was put in it? "Only" a 1.9 at that? There is no 1.9, there is a 1.7 though but doubt that would have been put it in....A stock integra engine is 1.8 so why do you say "only" 1.9?

sorry I honestly don't know anything about imports but this is the engine:

and the guy who worked on it told me the engine is not original and showed me the way the motor mounts were rigged up for this engine to fit.

and i heard 1.9 but i guess its not a 1.9, the guy who i was talking to about it hardly spoke english so i had a hard time understanding what he was saying.

It seems like it only does it 50-60mph on the freeway, i mean in 1st gear threw third it goes along pretty good but when it shifts to 4th it falls on it's face and takes a while to accellerate especially if i'm going up hill on the freeway (i-20, that hill by sixflags )

that hill isnt bad at all i live by there . considering they replaced ur original engine ,posibility they messed with ur tranny gearing ?>just a thoughtnot 100% sure ?
