head alone with cam should bring 50+ wHP depending on engine condition
tha carb 350 did 340WHP with mild comp cam edelbrock performerrpm with 2.02 intake valves . and high rise manifold. 700 cfm carb . jsut for some info . prob not to usefull since the caprice if FI

if you read the first article it says they removed it from the Camaro and put it on the dyno indicating Crank HP on an engine dyno.
I know that in 81 (my uncle has an 81 El Camino that he put a 383 in), the 305 was the "hottest" engine they had available for the El Camino. In that form it made 145 hp at the crank. BTW, trash the 305 and get a small block worth spending money on.![]()
^^ It's worth building. The car is not worth the swap. I been doin some research and I can make the 305 haul... it's just a car that I have sitting around doing nothing.

why not take care of headers and exaust, always a good place to start. Ive only built 350s and one 454 so I have no clue, too bad he doest wanna do a swap or he could go 572ci. And the 427 was a much better motor than the 454 IMO.

--> fully bolted
--> engine management (for tuning)
--> 100 shot wet
