possibly, obd 1 cars dont really work on check engine lights, they are all about passing on efficency of the motor....

They do put it on the dyno. If the missing o2 sensor is effecting your engine in a negative way, it may not pass. If everything is running normal and cat is still in place.. You should be ok. Its kinda of a game of chance right now. It all depends on how your ECU is acting towards the o2 sensor being unplugged.

its possible it could pass. i guess its the primary one since u said its bc u changed ur header. theyre gonna use a sniffer so the fact u dont have an o2 sensor wont make a difference but about like 8 times every ten seconds it makes the computer make the car run rich then lean and switches back and forth. depending on how it is now wired up it could make the car run rich or lean and make it fail emissions. that primary o2 sensor is what really what tells the computer wahts going on and the second one behind the cat pretty much tells the computer if the cat is good. (im guessin a honda so only 2 sensors) so technically it is possible but its also very possible ull fail or u could be running ur car very lean and end up heating up ur pistons and blowing ur motor anyway lol

    Default o2

I'm an emission inspector. and trust me I'd replace it, most likely its gonna make your numbers run really high. anything is possible but best to just replace it.plus if you come to a shop like mine where we have to pop the hood and its not there, you'd fail the visual inspection. Just my 2 cents.

missing the o2 generally makes the car run directly off the maps on a honda. the maps usually are set up as a 13.5:1-13:1 afr. since it's obd1 there is only a primary o2 and the o2's responsibility is to give feedback to the ecu and adjust fueling to get it to 14.7:1 when it is in closed loop operation (less than 75% throttle position w/ o2 active in place). that's why you'll see an air fuel meter bouncing around so much because that is the o2 and ecu correcting from the fuel tables.

obd1 emissions test is on a roller at idle and then at a load at a specific rpm. typically it's going to test closed loop since at cruising you're not above 75% throttle position. the gases it's looking for at 14.7:1 and running through a cat will be way different than your car at 13.5:1 running through a cat.
