    Default Who's into car audio?

I'm just kinda curious. Audio and having huge systems seems to be not quite as popular that say it was in the late 90's when I was still in HS. I know of very few people, especially up here in the sticks, that have systems, let alone anything decent. I've got a half-assed system in my truck, simply, cause, well, it's a truck, lol. I build an aperiiodic bi-chamber box for a pair of old-school Orion XTR Series 2 10's I had sitting in a closet, and decided to rock them with a Candence Z9000 800 rms bridges 2 channel amp. I've got a Kenwood Excelon X889 MP3 HU, and I'm putting together door speakers as we speak. Again, stuff I had simply sitting around from previous installs, lol. RF Fanatic Q 4" Mids (My GOD are these gigantic for 4"ers!!), and some Blaupunkt PCc50 tweets, mounted on some home-made adapter plates that'll fit in the stock loctions of my ranger doors, and they're gonna be run by a Profile CA400, thats also sitting here on a shelf from a previous car.

Here's pics of me and my friend building my box. if I even end up getting to my door speakers, hopefully today, depending on weather, I'll take many pics of that too.

My car is slow enough so i figure whats the extra weight:

HU: Alpine 9827 (soon to be upgraded hopefully since it has no tuning power)
    Front Stage: MTX TXC 6.1
Front Stage Amp: Arc Audio 4050-XXK biamped
Rear Fill: Focal 165CV (soon to be removed because they are off HU power and distort at high volumes)
    Subs: 3 Arc Audio ARCv2 10D4
    Sub Amp: Arc Audio 1500-XXK
    Optima Yellow Top
    IXOS D-blocks
    Knukonceptz and IXOS wiring

    And a picture:

BORA, I beleive, is a German Jetta, something that the parts for cannot even be had in the US.

You'll see Bora on alot of Jettas at shows, because no one respects the Jetta IM. I like debadged better, but a Bora badge doesnt offend me. A Type R badge or SiR on a model not equivelant is diff, because they are actually available here or in Canada, so fly it w/o buyin it, thats ricer, the Bora is 100% a Jetta, but the name didnt make it here.

But, isn't it true that a Bora is some sort of special Jetta, I remember a kid in college had a car labeled Bora, and he said you can't even buy the parts in the US to make a Jetta a Bora.

I missread that the first time, i thought you said the car had a "Ghetto" badge. Like the person above me posted it may have said Getta. Which is just Jetta with a GTI/Golf front so its a mixed name. Same as a JTI would be (GTI with a Jetta front end).

Yeah the labor cost me a ton...not very flashy bud I had everything installed so that it looks like there is nothing in my trunk-just looks half the size...I like the clean stock look

I have an MB Quart Amplifier and a MB Quart Premium Series 12 inch woofer. It's a great system and keeps my GTI Euro.

I just wanna say I hate it when people ask how many watts it has or brags about ridiculous amounts of power. Half the time those high powered subs are drawing ridiculous amounts of power they don't need or just aren't efficient. A JL W6 has an RMS around 500 but will hit harder than pretty much anything.

    Just putting it out there.
