Hey man, I just lowered my 01' R6. You'll need a lowering link or "dog bone" as some call it, they come in diferent heights but most go form 1"-3" adjustable. Around here most shops have to order them and they cost anywhere from $95-$130 a local shop was charging me $75.00 to install it. Then you'll also need to have the front lowerd which is done by adjusting the front forks, the local shop charged me $35.00 to do it for me.
However I whent on ebay and found the lowering link for $50 brand new! got it in two days, it had installation instructions and it looked really simple and ez so I decided to install it myself, and my girl friend helped me too. It took us about 30mins. to lower the back it was ez! ( you'll need a rear bike stand). So the next day I took the bike to the local shop and they did the front for me, I had them check the rear and they said it was done correctly.
If you are willing to do some of the work yourself like I did and shop around for the best deal you can lower your bike for about $85 like I did. Other wise you are looking about $250-$300.
I find most of my bike stuff on ebay, never had a problem.
Lord, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; the courage to change the things I can; and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the peoples I had to kill because they pissed me off,
sweet, i probably wont do it myself, as i have never worked on or been around bikes at all but 300 is not bad.
thanks alot. ill probably do a combo of buying own ebay parts and having a shop put it on.

why do you want a lowered bike? it changes the geometry of the bike completely and will handle like ass....
oh wait, you said a katana. those handle like ass anyway, carry on.

casey u gotta bike? how about this. Keep your motorcycle drive it, and have the 240 for weekends. that way gas prices wont kill you.
deal right now is if i cant find a car to trade with, i will do that, but i am looking for better gas anyway for now?Originally Posted by PSINXS

just use the bike for now. gas will eventually come back down. u can still keep your boost. the bike IS your good gas mileage.
i know but i would like to have ac when i want it, and maybe power windows ect.. obd2 sheetOriginally Posted by PSINXS

if u drive 240 on weekends it usually for meets right? night air feels good, ac is not needed, power windows are heavy, and obd2 is the gay for emissions. i have less than you. no ac, sunroof, power windows, radio, speakers. its perfect!! if i could drive my 240 everyday i would. in ga heat and all
u need a strap for the front witch is like 25 bucks and a bone/rear strap for back witch it varies from 50 to 180 for that and it really easy take like an hour or so.

Those of u who dog on any other kind of bike are either squids...or dont own bikes...i owned a 99 katana...was a great bike...dont put down what u havent ridden...if u say that it handles like then you dont know how to ride....I know plenty of people that will knee drag with katanas. They are good for what they are built for....awesome starter too
RIP Jason Pettus...you will be missed. 12/29/05
Well let's just put it in perspective then...a Katana is by no means a Sportbike...more or a Sport Tourer.
I know for a fact what a Katana is, and so does Hipsi.
You're not gonna see too many Katana's tearing it up on the Dragon or even up Richard Russell. Those bikes are top heavy.....plain and simple.
shit, I was on my bike and heading home and passed by a fellow biker who just layed it down and turned around to help him out, it was roughly a 20degree slow long left hander and he put it down....for the life of me I dont know how he did it....but laying there was a Katana....and I've seen that similar incident happen to other Katana owners.
To each their own, but personally I would never own one. I'd trade it in and get an SV....but hey, if it's just a starter bike...you'll learn that you're gonna want something else real fast.
what were they built for? don't expect to get any ass on a katana, let alone a 92. anywayz, its not even worth my time, but i know one thing, they do a pretty good job... looking like s#$@t.![]()

so let up on him, this katana may be his first bike. let him get his experience on it and when he's comfortable he'll move up the scale.
nuff said.....
FUCK HIM, HE'S A DICK. A PUSSIFIED DICK. (to halfwit)SAY IT TO MY FACE... BITCH.
