The fit on that body kit is less than perfect. Not the hottest RX7, but still a very nice one. The mirrors don't flow with the lines of the car either. I am not a fan of lambo doors, but to each his own.

I so hope You guys don't make me go back to 7's again.... I was always so broke. And I'm sure the idea of having engines laying beside the house will not entertain my neighbors....But man I miss them too.

Excuse my french, but that was a very uninformed post. People like BigBad13B are my hero, cause they make 5.7Litre LS1 cars feel like absolute crap when they get walked on by 1.3litres. BigBad, you souldnt be kidding about your last post. An LS1 in an FD or any other RX7 chassis is a waste.

All of you who are so strongly opposed to the ls1 swap are the most uninformed people I know. As soon as one of you can give me one valid reason why the ls1 is a lesser motor than the rotary, I will give in and keep my rotary in my rx7 and live with 12s for the rest of my life and only get 8mpg.

im not against a LS1 swapped rx7. but alot of people just hear or see a LS1 swapped rx7 and think that its the best thing ever without learning or driving a rotary. im thinking of doing one at the first of the year but i should still have my rotary FC.

I just said that about the LS1 cause you have more to work with. LS1 is for people who want to make serious power in the RX7. Oh by the way, I'm not a Chevy fan just someone that loves to make POWER.

Sorry to say but you could push that N/A from an LS1, still manage 27mpg, and not worry about it breaking everytime you turn the key, and heck, I can think of three Hondas on this site that are pushing well over 500whp. Oh and I know the rotary, I drove mine till that sucker blew, I was a fun little motor but it has so many disadvantages.

Real power??? Nothing compared to a boosted LS1.

A boosted LS1 is no more reliable than any other boosted motor. Turbos = higher level of heat = increased chance of detonation. Either a 13B or a LS1 can make good power.

Bring a boosted LS1 out to play with this little 1.3L....

Good points, mine is not going to be boosted, I'm perfectly happy with 500rwhp N/A and running low 10's/high 9's.

I wouldn't even try to race whatever that motor is going in.

Let's put that motor up against this one (in an FD). It would be one helluva race.

Please do give me the reasons that the rotary is such a great motor, I like rotarys because they are diffrent, but as far as them being awesome motors, I dont know that I would go that far.

The LS1 is a great v8 it hardly effects weight distrubtion and it makes so much more power under the curve that its crazy.

I've done a lot of research over the years on RX7's (all years), 13B's (all types) , and LS1's (and LT1s). My father was mechanic and built a lot of race cars (both street and track) over the years, so it was natural for me to stay with the V8s. I like V8s a lot, but for the cost, I'll stick with the 13B-REW in a FD. For the cost of converting to a LS1, I could convert to a 20B and make even more power.

Another thing to consider. Most of the 350 swaps don't run better than 12's - 13's. Plan on changing gearing, mounts, etc, if you go the LS1 route.

Personally, the only LS1 swap (other than the TT LS1) that I really like is in the 2nd gen convertible. At 3140 lbs., the vert really benefits from the additional low-end torque to get it moving. Otherwise, you can make more power with the same cost with the 13B.

Of course, if I had a Corvette, I would stay with the LS1. Conversions are never cheap. There is always additional unplanned cost.

BTW - the pic that I posted is r71's car. He doesn't post much on here. The FD that it is going in is not stock - but it is a street car.
