Default got a question 1990 eclipse gs trubo

I found a 90 eclipse gs turbo that the guy blew the motor in, he says the motor has no compression and i was wondering if someone knows about how much it would cost to rebuild the existing motor or to buy another motor to drop in its place.

I just did a 6-bolt shortblock with h-beam rods, forged pistons, machine work, and installed for about $3200 including labor.

If your head is toast or the valves are bent then it would be extra.

With a used engine it would be cheaper, but it would be a little iffy going with an old engine without at least freshening it up with bearings, rings and a new oil pump.

You really need to figure out if the timing jumped or if the motor is just blown.

If the timing jumped then you might get away with a freshen up and new valves. If the motor spun a bearing then a new crank would be in order if you ever plan on boosting hard.
