question for you g guys
alright, a while back me and my dad were watchin tv and one of those many adds for the for the new vdub, you know, the one with that weird ass german dude lol, but yeah, then he like just all of a sudden was like " ill never get a vw" and im like wtf their nice cars, so i asked him why. he said because every morning when he drives by a vw dealership on his way to work, he see's more cars backed up and or in line in the service department then any other car makers dealership, he says he's also heard bad things from some owners of vw's. this might be a stupid question, but i figured id get yalls thoughts. do you guys think thats true? are their more repairs needed on vw's more then other makers?

I personally haven't experienced any probs w/ my dub ... yet. I'm very aware of the common problems and I'd like to think that I know enough to fix them myself if they ever were to arise.
Maybe your Dad is telling the truth and sees a ton of dubs lined up at the service dept ... maybe he's biased against VW? ... maybe he drives by the vdub dealership everyday and secretly fantasizes about tearing ass in a new GTI? Who knows. Every car has it's problems. Other than a few exceptions, VW makes quality stuff. If you treat your dub right, then it'll treat you right. These things are built to last 375,000 miles ... and given the right amount of attention, they should last longer.
... and that's all I'll say. I stand behind my dub. :idb:

Are they the MOST reliable out there? No.
Are they the LEAST reliable out there? No.
I mean they do have thier quirks, but as with any car I am confident that if you take care of them then the car will last a long time.
Plus the guy in the commericals is cool...thats why he is in my sig
