    Default BMW 5 SERIES STYLING

The new version's styling E60 '05+ does not appear as solid as it's predecessor E39 '97-'04.

I usually give a newly design car a couple of month's to grow in me if the styling doesn't appeal to me.

The new 5 series had failed to do so.

    Anyone else feel this way?

I love the e39, the e39 m5 is still one of the hottest sedans ever. But the e60 is just pure sex imo, e60 m5 is the king!! I honestly dont understand where all the bangle bashers are coming from, I think the new 3,5,6,7 series are all hot. The new 3 could use some tweaking in the back, but overall Great!!, The 5 is solid over all, the 6 i think the front head lights should be changed a little to make them not droopy, and the 7 is pretty spot on as well.

How people dont find this to be good looking is beyond me...

The The E60 from the M Dept. spices it up a notch!

I'm mostly talking about the non-M models, they're super bland on styling!

maybe it's the wheel package combined with an unappealing body line

    it's something man

Yea the rim choices are the non-m's are a bit subpar, and the body parts arent exactly aggressive or exciting, so i guess thats contributing to it.

I don't know it's hard to say. I'm more of an old-school type of person, hence I drive na E28, lol. I'd like an E39 personally, as a realistic dream car. 540i 6 speed sport package, boosted, would make me QUITE happy. I haven't seent oo aweful many of the newer 5's on the road yet to be able to get to like them all that much.

The problem with the styling though, is it's just that - styling. It's new, it's bold, it's what BMW has always embraced - the cutting edge. Whether this turns out to be the RIGHT cutting edge design, we'll see in a few years. I'm sure we may all be swayed in a couple years once the style grows on us a little more. I'm just praying the quality stops going down.

Actually, I currently stay in Upstate NY, I haven't moved down to the ATL just yet, end of June, lol. Not a whole helluva lot of nice cars up here. Not enough jobs/money up in this neck of the woods to suport any kinda large # of nice cars.

No its not because i can be dinan supercharged for less money and kill the NEW M5... the new M5 has NO DIPSTICK... cant change the oil yourself... has to go in for dealer only services all the time because the programing is fucked up etc... E39 5 series, E38 7 series and E36 3 series are the last BMW anyone should consider

I was told that the current 5 series doesn't come in stick? That's what made b.m.w so much of a drivers car. Even when the magazines test them they might not have the h.p as a benz, but they are more fun to drive with a better suspension then the benz.

yea...beamers do have a lot better suspensions. Benz suspensions are really soft and a benz is always just a luxury car. Beamers have more sporty suspensions and can really b called luxury sport cars. i knoe this because all we bought before were benzes. we were a benz family until i jumped out and got my beamer. Getiin my beamer changed my parents minds n i dont think they wanna get anotha benz.
