    Default Possessed Sunroof

I've got a Volkswagen Golf (mk. IV) TDi. We just got it last year and it's been having this problem ever since. It's got a knob for the automatic open/close sunroof (Golf owners will know what I mean) but it'll sporadically open sometimes no matter what position it's in. For example, it'll be in the "closed" position but it'll randomly open halfway and I have to turn the knob to the "vent" position to get it to close. After a while, it'll go back to normal but that means the vent opens and I have to set it back.

I guess something shorted...but I don't know much about electronics. Any ideas?
