dyeing cloth seats?

I was wondering if this was possible. I recently picked up some vw recaros for my fox, but the center cloth part wont come clean, at least i cant get it clean. So i was thinking i could dye it? Can I dye it? Is the dye any good or will it rub of on my clothes? If anyone knows the process could u explain it as well.

Rit dye may work... but i would just have them recovered
