Where are all the fast 1G dsms?

How come i don't see any fast 1G dsms at the track anymore? I guess i'm going to have to start modding my 91 TSi and bring it back out. At the import showdown all the fast dsms were 2Gs. Maybe all the fast 1gs are broken.

i ran 13.5@102 in mine with a 200,000 mile motor with $150 in mods. KN filter,$15 mbc,used 2.5 inch DP,test pipe,2.25 inch greddy catback (already on car). I used to race th car back in 2003 almost every friday and ran high 1.7 60 foots on some junk radials. The car was very fast for the dollar spent. I've just been daily driving the car but i'm gathering some parts for when its time to return so watch out.

My car is kinda fast with a new clutch if I can stop buying shit for 2 seconds and buy one. I'm bout to pick up another set of Corbeaus to put in it real cheap so that may set me back another week or so.

Not all of them. Most are just getting built somewhere. Or getting body work. The ones that are still left.

There are no more fast 1G's Conrad.... You should know by now that a huge majority of 1G DSM owners have gone on to the EVO craze.... I have owned several 1G's and 2G's , and I prefer my 2G..... I must admit that the EVO would be a great option for me but for some reason I just cant seem to do it..

I mean I could have gotten an Evo coming off my Infiniti but I always wanted a clean gvr4 or 1g. I was always intimidated when I saw one on the streets because you knew what they could do. Now I want to do the scaring.

jack the car up slide yourself under there and install that clutch yourself. It's really not that hard, I'll even help if ya want, I love working on these cars.

i don't see the big deal over the EVO besides just having a new car. I mean the car is heavier,parts more expensive,and i don't see the stock EVO motor being any better then the 1st gen 6 bolt and screw some $1000 dollar clutches for only running high 11s. The only thing going for that car is that it goes pretty fast with the stock turbo and mild bolt ons.

Ive done a clutch on FWD/RWD but I'm not all about doing a clutch in this. It look like a bitch... lol

Like I said I'm willing to help, it's really not that bad...well then again I've never really changed a clutch on anything but an awd dsm. I work cheap, just some food and drinks while we work. Just let me know when you wanna do it.

Well I was waiting to have a few hundred for labor but I guess I could buy the clutch now then. I dont know I can work around your schedule. PM me whenever you can.

They are out there. I know of four 1g's in this area that are currently being built that are going to be faster than they already were.

1 of them happens to be mine, should be done next weekend. Expecting 450whp roughly.
another one is the guy that is building mine. His went 7.3x's about 2 years ago.

Yeah pretty much everybody I've talked to is building their cars right now.

And 7.30's is the 8th mile right?
