Okay, for those of you who are probably reading this thread and thinking to yourselves...''why don't you just get a B16/GSR trans?''...please don't reply. lol, just hit that back button.

With that having been said....I just recently bought an LS/YS1 transmission, which according to one source its been found out that the 1st and 2nd gear ratios are the same as the GS-R gear ratios, which, in both transmissions the ratios are 2.230 and 1.900. I'm not at all worried about those two. Now, where things start to change between the GSR and the LS trans, is in the 3rd and 4th gear sets. I've read that the ratio for the LS 3rd and 4th are 0.966 and 0.714, whereas the GSR 3rd and 4th gearsets are 1.360 and 1.034. The 5th gear between these two transmissions, I'm not really worried about.

My question is, would it be possible to take out and completely trash my LS 3rd and 4th gearsets, and replace them with some that have a slightly better ratio, somewhat closer to the GSR or B16's spec.?

My main goal in this is to have it so that when the transmission actually lands in the next gear, the engine's RPMs won't drop so drastically and in-turn so that it won't fall on its face as hard in the next gear and have to work harder to regain its ''comfort zone'' in the powerband, but only in the first 4 gears.

So...Plausable...? or ?? Lol, OH and this is my first time ever messing with any kindof tranny type things... so don't be too harsh!
