    Default Popping sound from exhaust?

Hey guys , I have a 96 integra ls b18b. Bone stock. Just recently while driving around it has started making a popping sound. It sounds like my car is making pop corn and is extremely lacking power. Its not throwing a CEL eighter. Checked the distributor and it looked fine. Any ideas what it may be??

Not sure if it is coming from the exhaust. Sounds more like somewhere around the intake filter area. Not sure though, but its in the engine area.

Sounds like you have a hole in your exhaust somewhere. Raise it and check up and down the exhaust piping even near the cat. You said it sounds like its coming from the engine, check the header to the cat and the bolts also.

went and checked the exhaust again. Its definitely not that. Maybe the catalac convertor is clogged? Or maybe a coil going out? Not even sure if integras have coils tho.

Never heard that before , yes your coil can be going out it loose power after time so there for might not be fully juiced. I would take your O2 sensor out of the cat and drive it around and see if it runs better if it does you will need a cat... If you have a infared light you can check the temp on the cat , if it is like (example only) 780 degrees before cat and 300 out it is stopped up...If it is 300 before and 300 after your cat is burned up but running like a straight pipe. if it is 300 before and 550 after it is working

I would check to make sure your dizzy is tight too.
    timing???

that sounds like detonation check you distributor and see if it is too far advanced. Try loosing it and turning it back a little and see if it fixes your problem.

My spark cable went bad, changed em, was misfiring, changed the spark plugs, still misfiring, and it stopped. and a day later my check engine light came on for a cat. I also have a 96 integra.

if you checkd your exhaust and their are no air leaks. then i would do a tune up.

and or a CLT or compression test. to see if u dont have a burnt valve.
