    Default Another Idle Problem

I have an 89 Civic Wagon with stock 1.5 DPFI. I recently did a full tune up and cleaned the IACV. The problem is that it idles low under a load, i.e. lights, a/c ect. It idles right at 850 without the lights on and drops to about 500 rpms with them on. Wtf?

Have you tested or replaced your battery?

the battery is new. I was kind of leaning towards the alternator but none of the usual signs are there to support that either.

ELD may be bad. Also, check the alternator.

The ELD, or Electric Load Detector, sends a signal to the alternator to amp up the juice a little when an electrical load is detected. I thought they only came on later model cars. My engine bay fuse box does not have one.
