My question is what are the diff. Heads that will bolt up to a d16z6 block for more power?

Keep that head or do a Y8 head its OBD2 though. All D series are interchangable but your vtec block needs vtec head!! Just build it to make power.

I would keep the Z6 head mainly for the cam profile and timing setup. You can put a Y8 on it and gain a little compression but that is about it.

Also the Z6 has a better top end potential due to straight ports.

The Y8 will up the compression slightly but at the cost of offset ports.

i, personally, think the z6 is prob. the best way to go on single cam engines.

instead of getting a new head, upgrade the cam, springs and retainers. it will help out the top end some.
