anytime I get a car, the first thing I do is lower it and put an intake on it. Its the best bang for the buck. It will look better, sound better, but not be too over the top. Its a good way to ease her into this whole tuning thing. Plus ive always found the sound of an intake gets tuner virgins craving more. Cool car, tell het to enjoy it!![]()
thanks, that what I was thinking about doing

make sure your wife likes the lowered car feel, the increased hastle of getting out when sore, tired, or end of a long day, the harsher ride etc. I put my coilovers on my wifes car and she was pissed. Just somethign to think about
There are a couple different good spring or coilover setup that you can go with. I have a set of coilovers for sale now for your wifes 3g. If your interested or need any help finding the right setup for your wife email me at [email protected] with any of your questions of concerns. I have had several DSM cars from eclipses, galants, talons, and avengers!!

Its an MMC bitches. My car wasnt made in Illinois.
If you want to do anything to a 3g put wheels on it for starters. Some people arent into the other stuff for a while.
I think you should invest in the coilover and new shocks just in case she doesnt like it too low. The intake and exhaust for added quick hp and tq. Maybe some interior goodies ya know, I aint got to tell ya!

Now i could have sworn somewhere back in the day and even today Mitsu and the Dodge Corp used the same technology and same parts!! Ohhh yea DSM means DIAMOND STAR MOTORS!!! You know that little badge on the front of your so called Galant, thats a diamond!! Now you can find that same babge on the inside on tailights, headlights, there engines, interior pieces on Mitsu,Dodge, and Chrysler cars, ooh yea and on the plastic bags that your parts come in from the dealer.Do some research before you bring your so-called knowledge on IA.I guess that Neons arent DSM cars either huh?LMAO!! Go read up a little!!Originally Posted by 1439/2000

You have made yourself look like an ass. Anybody true to DSM knows that the OG DSMs are the T/E/L.Originally Posted by b19wheels

WELL....my car is the ANTI DSM because it is strictly an import. None were made in America, thus not stimulating growth for the American economy.
3000 were brought over in total from 1991 and 1992 and was completely seperate from any DSM contracts.
Here you go:
From Vfaq.com
A joint effort by Mitsubishi (three diamonds) and the Chrysler Corporation (penta-star) to build some of the most incredible automobiles in the world. The vehicles were produced with the names Eagle Talon, Mitsubishi Eclipse, and Plymouth Laser. DSM cars are assembled in Normal, Illinois. The '94-and-up Mitsubishi Galant is also assembled at the DSM plant in IL; previous Galant's were assembled in Japan. The Eclipse and Galant (since '89) share the same platform.
Are Sebrings and Avengers DSMs?
Aside from the fact that Sebring and Avenger cars are built in the same MMMA plant as the 2G cars, there is nothing to connect them to the DSM name. They do not share heritage, appearance, upgrade paths or many parts with DSMs. For this reason, these two models are not considered DSMs, and discussion regarding these cars is not part of the Talon Digest or most UBB systems concentrating on DSMs.
SO long story short if you look on the back of a conquest tsi is doesnt say made by dodge or chrysler it says imported FOR chrysler.
The American car industry was junk so they used Jap cars to build themselves back up.
And no a Neon is not a fucking DSM and I think you should read up a little. Is a durango a DSM? I mean its a Dodge and an Avenger is a Dodge and apparently thats a DSM. What about a caravan? My neighbor has a DSM in that case. I should tell him to com to the meets.
Thanks for playing but please try again.

?!What the fuck were you smoking!? A neon a DSM? Just because there are some mitsu parts on a car doesn't make it a DSM. Just about every car out there has some mitsu part on them somewhere...hell even camaros have mitsu parts.Originally Posted by b19wheels
here's some more reading, little less know info in case anyone's interested:
"2G cars are considered DSMs because they are direct descendants of the original DSM cars. Although they were technically not built by Diamond Star Motors, their connection to the original line is unmistakable, as they share the name, trim levels and original intention of the 1G cars.
Also, some early 95 cars have DSM labeling on them, leading many to believe that all 2Gs were built by Diamond Star Motors. This is not the case, as Diamond Star Motors officially ceased to exist in mid-1993, when Chrysler sold off all of its Mitsubishi holdings, technically making the 1994 cars the last of the DSMs. This type of hair-splitting is not important for Club purposes, however, and the Club has decided that 2Gers have as much right to be included as earlier owners.
The Galant VR-4 is something of an oddity in the club, but the VR-4 shares many important components with the 1G cars, including the unusual AWD drivetrain. It can be argued that the Galant VR-4 is the "parent" of all DSMs: the original concept for the DSM in North America was a four-door. Also the VR-4 platform was originally concieved to be Mitsubishi's entry into the rally racing circuit before DSM existed.
A similar situation exists with the 2G Spyder convertible, but it's connection with the other 2G cars is unmistakable. Thus the Spyder and VR4 are included in the scope of the Talon Digest. " -http://1000q.dsm.org
The peopl who actually have turbo all wheel drive DSM's have spoken. And you are shut down.

i have a 2000 galant with the same motor. turboed at 7.5 psi u should be right up there with stock 1st and 2nd gens.
But not from a dig.Originally Posted by boostdgalant
Thats what sucks. You spend the time and money to turbo a 3rd gen eclipse and you have spent twice as much as a 1st gen eclipse that would bust your ass.
I would be more than willing to let you run my stock 2G...From a roll or a dig it makes no difference to me....Any takers?

Theres really not much worth doing to the 3g eclipse. You can throw on a catback and an intake for shits and giggles, but every power adder after that gets really expensive.Originally Posted by COGCaviZ24
My father actually owns a modded 3g eclipse and it is a decent car. It's a 2000 gt fedspec with a manual tranny. (i know i may sound stupid talking about my "Daddy's" car ha but he really was/is into modding the car. Personally, I own a supra)
His mods are as follows: aem intake; magnaflow exhaust; eibach springs; agx gas shocks; rear strut tower bar; aftermarket swaybar; b&m short shifter
With all of that the car not only still handles like a complete pig, but didnt really seem to pick anything up power wise. Dont get me wrong, it still blows away other stock eclipses through the turns, but compared to some other platforms out there it really isnt worth it.
Your next step after exhaust and intake would be headers unless you wanted to throw on a turbo or supercharger. I've seen only 1 other gs turbo'd and that was an hks sponsored car. Neither the 6 or the 4 has a decent enough bottom end to support boost through.
If you are just looking to have a little fun with the car, his modifications would be a good path to follow... Also... the brakes on the 2000 gt are a 2 piston caliper so a lot of guys upgrade to that. Then the wheels on the gt are bigger also i believe so that'd be another good idea.
If youre looking for the car to be a performer this would not be a good platform. But if you just looking to have a little fun, follow his mod path and the extra few i gave you. That should make for a pretty fun ride.
btw... If i remember correctly think the big forum for that car is club3g.com. It's been a while.

the diff between a fan club, 3g, j body, maxima lol, and a DSM person, the dsm person does it for hte love of speed, sexyness, and knowing he can go faster than you for less.
All the others area fad, DSMs are a life
well, whatever. my wife really don't give a damn about fixing her car up. and after doing the research, i find it to be a wast of time and money for this particular car. as for sexyness and speed, you've obviously never seen MY J-body.Originally Posted by tsispyder
