stupid question but is this the entire assembly except the linkage?
and is there some way to pick the shifter it self cause 'd prefer the straight shifter instead of the "truck" style

The 06 and up SI's don't use that type of shifter. Skunk2 sells an adaptor to make the throws shorter, similar to how H and f series short shifters are. Here is a picture of the skunk2.
