    Default my head are clicking

so i blew a head gasket on my 97 integra( B18b1) it was smoking pretty bad and dripping water out from the tail pipe.

i buy a new head gasket and replace a new one.
i tight it up all bolt 15LB then 35LB then 45LB

everything seen to go very smooth ..

after all part and cover is back on. i try to start the engine, it making a very load clicking nosie.
the nosie seem like it coming from the spring.

anyone encounter with this problem before and know how to fix it??

and i readjust the valve to .017 on the intake side and .020 on the exhaust side. the clicking are gone now after i did that.

BUT I CAN'T GET THE ENGINE TO TURN ON YOU THNK IT SOME GROUNDI THEN ADDED AN EXTRA GROUND TO THE VALVE COVER AND IT STILL DONT RUN.

from what you said here it sounds alot like the starter clicking. If it didnt turn over then you would have never heard your valves.

    this thread is all fail.

i bet the lifters are binding on the tops of the valves.

take that useless info elsewhere. ive done 100+ honda head gaskets, and reused every set of headbolts, and guess what? not one problem. this is where mechanics and internet specialists seperate.

people that actually work on cars for a living, and the few random IA users who pop in with useless myths to throw into the mix, the general tech area should be the area where the 2 seperate and the random crap goes somewhere else.

Don't know if anybody wrote on this but I thought head bolts are reusable..I always thought that when the motor over heats that's when it messes with the bolts or something like that...could be wrong, correct me if i'm wrong.

First...ur valve adjustments are WAY out
second.. an extra ground to your VC isn't going to change a thing
third...have you tried jumping the car?

G/l man...i wasnt trying to be a dick or nothin...the reason you don't hear clicking anymore is b/c the clearance on your valves is so big now, they don't even get close...it should be like .008 and .011...u are almost double that. Don't go by what some random on youtube is doin...go by what Honda says
