    Default ? protege transmissions please help me out

    ok i have a 2003 mazda protege5 automatic trans i have the sport shifter the one you can swicht gears with - and + you can tab up with + tab down with - or eather use the regular Automatic gear my question is are all the 2003 automatic trans the same are they all (4F27E) and the shifter is all by computer? or is it something different iside of the trans to shift with - and + i wanted to know because my trans is slipping on 2nd gear and i wanna replace it but is hard to find a trans from a 2003 protege5

    im looking in alldata and it doesnt list any changes in trannies for 03 automatic.

    Any of the 2.0L auto transmissions from 02-03 will work.
    The shifts are controlled by the ECU.

    Go to car-part.com and search the salvage yard's inventory across the us if you're still looking for one.

    It'll probably cost you $550 to get one from a salvage yard or $200 to rebuild one.
