How much does it take the cover a front bumper of a regular sized car?

My civic took a little less than a whole roll to do this: (lip and grill had fresh paint)

Just out of curiousity...why tape at all?? If it's a daily driver that's not taped for driving daily, then what does it matter to tape it up when driving to a show?

A ford galaxy has a fairly small, in surface area, bumper. Probably the same or less to do a civic bumper as the civic bumper covers the whole front end while the galaxy bumper is just the lower portion of the front
