Default 99 GS300. Is it totaled?

Got a 99 GS300 (leather, sun roof etc.) that has 204,000 miles. Car is pretty clean, better than average for a 99 200,000 mile car. Was hit in the rear and pushed passenger side quarter panel into the rear door. Door won't open, quarter is pushed out by the door 1/2" or so. Right rear wheel is pushed forward 1/4" (wheel base is 1/4" shorter on pass. side). Trunk gap on drivers side gets narrower as it goes back. Can't even put a bis card between the gap at the back but it will open. No bumper damage other than a scratch or two.

I will get pics tomorrow as it was dark tonight. Just from the description you think it will be totaled? It has also been wrecked and repaired 3 other times as well. Once was a deer, unsure of the second and the last time was 4 weeks ago (just picked the car up 4 days prior to this wreck) when someone backed into the quarter panel thats damaged now.

If it's a rebuilt title, definitely. If not, still most likely.

    This was totalled:

'02 with 100k miles, clean title, perfect condition. NADA/KBB both were around $7,500, damage was around $5,900-$6,500. Insurance totalled it. Of course they only gave me $5,700, but I only had about $4k in the car

Well I'm not sure about the title, I think its clear though. You can't even tell this car has been hit unless you look at the quarter panel/door gap.

It's no so much the visual damage as the actual damage.

My mom's C230 was backed into, looked FUCKED up, but only only about $3,600 worth of damage. BUT, her C220 looked untouched after being rear-ended... had about $3k worth of damages.

If it was rear-ended and messed with the gap between the door and quarter panel, I'd say it's probably got some frame damage as well as needing a new 1/4 panel, trunk, trunk floor, rear suspension/subframe...

I could definitely be DEAD wrong. I've never worked in a body shop or with insurance. This is purely off experience with wrecks

I've grown up around body shops but this is a hard call without tearing into the car but I'm thinking it will be. The suspension is messed up as well so its not good.

about a good 85% of the time, if the door jams are messed with or frame is hit, its totaled. insurance companies will total the car out over paying the damages.

trust me, frame repair, is not cheap. most insurance places don't like doing 1/4 panel replacements.

Not true, I work for a body shop and we do alot of 1/4 repairs and replacing. it all depends on what the car is worth vs the cost of repairs....

i know how the shit works. i worked for a body shop for quite some time. did a lot of insurance work there.

i said a lot of the times not all the time. it really just depends on the year model of the car. older cars are most likely gonna get totaled over newer cars with a higher value.

new quarter panel installed is not cheap at all. At least $800 for labor alone

check price on kbb on the car, and check how much it would cost from a body shop and you'll find out. If the cost of fixing the car is more then the kbb then pretty sure, insurance will go by it and total it.

If the wheel is pushed forward, who knows how much damage is done to the suspension/drivetrain. Along with the quarter and door damage it sounds like a total. Hard to tell w/o pics though.

for that year and that kind of damage, i would be surprised if it wasn't totalled.
