    Default 99 SI NEED HELP ON CODE 20

    hey guys i just bought a 99 honda civic SI..Its throwing code 20 for electrical load detector, i have no idea what that is..Its killing my battery..The guy own the car before me changed the steering column if that help..I need help to fix it...if someone can help that would be really helpful..thanks..

    UNDER-HOOD FUSE/RELAY BOX *Has replaceable ELECTRICAL LOAD DETECTOR (ELD) UNIT.

    Also you can go to Autozone and have them run a FREE performance test on the Alternator / Charging system.

    also the computer could be bad also

    alrite thanks guys let me check the alternator and go from there..

    Is there a way that the ELD come off, or just pull it out..lmk

    Just pull it out and replace it. The ELD just turns the alternator output on and off. And yes the ECU could be faulty.

    I had an si that would blow a fuse and not stay charged, I can't remember which one it was but it was for the speed sensor/ o2 sensor/ altenator. The o2 sensor was actually grounding it self to the body.... So try looking for a fuse first always the cheapest fix lol...

    fuse isnt his problem its throwing a code

    my car was throwing that today and i fixed it by checking all my wiring and sure enough some of it wasnt connected well i fixed that and the code went away so just look at the wiring

    which wire of your was unplugs, was it the sensor on the engine..lmk, i check all the plugs on the engine it all plug..
    well today i unbolt the fuse box and found the wire under it have been cut and reconnect..it might be some wire that are loose from being reconnected..i check it out tomorrow and see..

    Will today i took off the alternator and got it test came out good..
    i guess i have to try and borrow a p2t ecu and try it and see what happen..

    i dont have a volt meter to do the other testing..

    IF SOMEONE CAN FIX THIS PROBLEM I WILL PAY THEM 150..LMK
