what are you trying to find out? you looking to boost the lex and use an aem?

from what i hear, the aem is one of the best for the IS/2jz.

I have tuned 2J NAT cars with a lot of different engine management systems and piggybacks. Apex SAFCs, NEOs, Haltechs, Map Ecus, Electromotive Tec 3s, Emanage Blues, Emanage Ultimates, etc.

AEM is by far the best engine management out there for your car. I would compare it to a Motec but it has more features. I can say this because the AEM software is not confusing to me at all. After you have used it a lot and you understand what all the tables do and how they affect each other it is a LOT more powerful than any other engine management system out there.

I tune an average of 3 AEM units a week and I run them on my personal cars as well. If you want something that is the best aftermarket ecu with all the bells and whistles that you could want then get it. If you are planning on tuning it yourself then expect to spend a lot of time learning the software and possibly an engine.

I would not recommend a megasquirt for that car. You can go with another piggyback computer like an emanage but you have to make sure your fuel trims are correct. If you have an obd2 car then you really have to make sure your fuel trims are correct so the stock ecu does not mess with the tune. You will make more power with an AEM.

A perfect example is the last 2J NAT car we did. It made 350 rwhp on an emanage ultimate. It made 400 hp on the AEM at the same boost and the same fuel. It just works better and the commands that you are giving the engine actually get to the engine without being interpreted by the stock ecu.

Thank you. I have always known and heard how great the AEM is but i have never had hands on with it. Thanks for all your input. Its nice to have intelligent responses for once.

AEM EMS is a pretty good solution, it has plenty of support out there. A friend of mine has it on his EVO without any trouble.
    Who knows?

your options should ultimately depend on 2 things. your budget and your power goals. if you don't plan on going much over 400, you could go with the Haltech F10x or the AEM FIC. if you plan on making more than 400, then i would go with either the AEM, Haltech e6x, motec m800, tec3.....

Im also trying to keep clutter down in the engine bay/ running wires in cabin. I do like the fi/c. and i doubt ill go higher than 400. Perice is less of a factor since everything is at cost. Its easy when doing other people's cars but i havent had to use management on mine. I usually didnt do the tuning.

the issue with that is the 2J has a few other things to worry about like VVTi and all the crap that is controlled by the ecu the the IS300. Sr's are easy motors to work with where as the lex is a bit more tempermental or so im told.

the GS we just boosted used the F10x and we couldn't be happier for his setup. he made 412 rwhp at about 12 psi and it drives like stock.

I have had the AEM EMS on both the Mustang and the Supra for quite a while. Have spent a lot of time tweaking it on the Mustang. It's easier to use than a Haltech or Motec, and comes with all of it's features already activated, unlike the Motec. It is not quite as good as a Motec, for certain, and you should choose your EMS with consideration for the community support in mind. The Mustang community definitely does not have the same level of community support for the AEM as the BS3 or FAST. Also, consider the mileage of the car, and the heat that the factory harness has been subjected to already. For a higher mileage car, I would have put the new harness in and gone with a FAST, but for my low mileage Mustang, with its harness in good shape, I liked the PnP of the AEM.

I can answer most questions you might have. You should download the software first. I assume that you have tuned a car before, correct?
