    Default smoking

    My civic is smoking pretty bad when i stand on the gas. Any ideas? do i need a rebuild or swap?

    Its either the valve stem seals, or the valve guides, or the piston rings/oil ring.

    Then again, im also assuming you are talking about the kind of smoke that comes out when oil is being burned... I'm also assuming you're not confusing that same smoke with what happens when vtec engages as well.

    FUCK...my locked function doesn't work anymore. LOL

    This thread blows though. If your car is smoking, why would you continue to MAKE it smoke? Doesn't seem intelligent.

    don't stand on the gas...it will alst longer. and its prob piston rings. if it bothers that much, either:
    a- do a swap
    b- drop the block and get a shop to replace the rings
    c- keep standing on the gas and asking why it smokes
