Will a starter for a standard 4.3 Gm engine fit the 3.0 Mercruiser engine? The 3.0 (and most 4.3/5.0/5.7 Mercruisers) use a starter with a long and short mount opposed to the standard GM long mount on both sides.

Hmm interesting. I can see the diff in them with the pics both up at the same time. Odd because I remember my 5.7 starter having a straight bolt pattern, not staggered like that one.
