    Default Broken tranny bolt hole

Two bolt holes on my aluminum tranny case are broke. Where the bolts thread in, it's raised up from the main part of the case.

Just for an example, the tranny mount bolt holes on this T56 are similar (they're on bottom)

A side on each bolt hole is missing from being overtightened, I'm guessing.

Can anything be done? Like having it welded up or something?

actual pics of the damage would help, most machine shops and welding shops can probly fix it though. I haven't seen many that couldn't be...G/L

^^What he said. Worst case scenario, get a new bellhousing. I'm assuming the trans you've got is a T56, since you used a pic of a T56. If so, it shouldn't be difficult to find a new bellhousing for it. Might also be cheaper than paying a welder or machine shop to repair it.

Fuck stance. Stance is for kids in skinny jeans with Justin Beiber haircuts. You don't need stance when you got swagger.

I don't have any of the other pieces, I just got the transmission. I talked to an instructor at a local tech school and asked his opinion, he said it could be built up and tapped most likely. Although, I didn't have a pic to show him at the time.

I always shudder at that idea... kind of the same as having someone who is still in beauty school cut your hair lol.

lol. I feel ya, but the instructor is who I talked to and he talked as if he'd be doing it... either way, if it's fixed, it's fixed. I just need it in my car
