front of car starts to shake when slowing down?

i am trying to figure out what this could be. the only thing i can think of is its either the axels, the rotors, or the pads. hopefully not something else. anyways, when i go from a higher speed to slow down to either stop or take a turn into somewhere. it rattles/shakes. i dont know what it could. anyone have any ideas? god i am hoping its nothing serious!

Sounds like a rotor pulsation.

Yea I would check the rotors first thats probably it, u probably warped them......

It means that you should try to re-surface the rotors.

a complete brake job will fix that. rotor new or turned if able to be, and pad. make sure to grease the slide pins.

and if it only shakes when applying the brakes then yes rotors are warped...if it doesnt it without using the brakes then maybe a axle but it would do it on hard accel also....Best of luck

id consider this being your first project.. to get familiar.. brake job on a honda is as simple as it gets! The only tricky part is bedding the brakes when your done.. but even that is a basic process. or pay me to do it...

to change a rotor and pads he wont need to bleed the brakes.

1. Raise and support front of vehicle and remove wheels.
2. Remove caliper pin bolt, then pivot caliper up away from rotor.
3. Remove brake pad shims and pads, Fig. 2.
4. Clean caliper and inspect for excessive wear or damage.
5. Install pad retainers, then pad shims and pads, Fig. 2.
6. Back out bleed screw <--( i normally skip this step on most cars) and push in piston to allow caliper to fit over pads, then tighten bleed screw to specification.
7. Pivot caliper into position, then install pin bolt and tighten to specifications.

to get the rotor off just take the 2 bolts holding the bracket for the caliber off. then the 2 screws that hold the rotor to the hub.

haha first time i did my hondas brakes i forgot to mash the brake pedal until it got firm before i took a test drive......


self explanatory........that was a fun test drive.

dont forget to mash brake pedal after youre done with rotors/pads, until it gets firm.
just get a haynes manual. if its your first time it shouldnt take more than like 2.5 hours. and thats being fairly generous. all you need is a lug wrench, jack and stands, screw driver, couple sockets and thats it. oh and maybe a hammer for those rusty old rotor screws.
