Default Lost 3 quarts of oil in 1200 miles....

1995 Miata, pretty much stock. has 91,xxx miles on it. I switched to sythetic(yea my b) after it having conventional most of its life at the last oil change. About 2 weeks ago I checked it, it was a bit low, I added about a quart. Got off the interstate today and it was ticking. Limped it home and found that I had MAYBE 2 quarts of oil in it. I live in an apartment complex so no real way to check for oil spots. Doesnt seem to be leaking from anywhere and the car doesnt smoke. Anyone know where my 3 quarts went?

The mystery that plagued me till mine broke idk, maybe the motor is just eating it or.... the oilpan is slowly caking it on itself. May as well check.

But I wouldnt of just changed oil types after all that time of using conventional, now ur motors mad at u

Yeah...went back to conventional and added some Lucas oil repair shit that was thick as molasses. Its supposed to slow the burning.

Vents the crankcase (where the oil is) to the intake via a vacuum. They will just stick open when they go bad, normally gummed up from oil or something.

You can also do a compression check. If one of your cylinders is showing low compression, pour some oil down it and re test...if the compression goes up you have a bad piston ring.

There is an easier way to check for ring problems.

If your oil smells like gas, your fucked. If not, your straight lol
