    Exclamation d16y8 Question

    i have a 96 civic with the d16 in it and i looked at the block code and it says d16y8 but the head dont have v tec on it does that mean its a non vtec head or what????

    but sumone told me if it is a d16y8 then it has to b vtec but i dont think it is

    D16y8 is vtec, maybe someone has changed the head or taken off the vtec, or maybe youre over looking it. Non vtec would be a d16y7

    No my Y7 plugs are at the bottom too. I know the y8's don't say vtec on the valve cover but they still have a solenoid, if it don't have a solenoid then its a y7 head.

    I know the y8's don't say vtec on the valve cover
    d16y8 valve covers dont say VTEC on them /thread

    Do you mean the VALVE COVER doesn't say VTEC? Because a lot of them don't... the z6 vc says vtec, don't think the y8 does.

    i have a d16y8 and vtec pulls hard on mine..you gotta get ur vtec broke back in bc the previous owner that had mine never got on it, i had to keep getting on vtec so it cud pop in nice and now it works great. so idk maybe my scenario will work.
