    Default Running Cold

I have an Integra with a few bolt on's. One of them is a Koyo radiator. I do not run fans on it at all. When I am driving it the temp gauge sits right on the C and I have never seen it above 1/4 even during the summer in traffic. What I want to know is, is it bad for my car to never get to normal operation temp? Should I get a half size Koyo? LMK what you guys think.

its not terrible but gas mileage will suffer.

Replace your thermostat, sounds like that is the problem

If the engine is not at proper operating temperature, it'll burn more gas due to poor fuel atomization. The engine actually uses the heat in the combustion chamber along with the obvious to ignite all of the fuel.

This could also lead to engine knock and the ECU could retard your timing as well resulting in loss of power.

I agree with above comments, 99.99% is that your thermostat is stuck in the open position. Your coolant is constantly being circulated within the engine and with that big Koyo Radiator keeping enough of the coolant so cold, your engine doesnt have time to warm up.

With a bigger radiator, you may also want to go up 10 degrees on the thermostat from the factory specs OR less you plan on boosting or anything, then go back with the original temp.

Running cold only makes your car run RICH...Long term its not the best thing for the rings, etc

But its best to run what your ecu is looking for!

    OEM temp!

Could stay in open loop causing all the poor mpg and performance. Check that thermostat.
