    Default misfire

aight. my wires are correct but still gotta misfire. what are some other possible problems? im guessing either the distributor is bad or the timing is off by a tooth. any extra knowledge is greatly appreciated.

I would start by changing the plugs first

98 civic. gotta d15b in it. i have heard people talk about the d15b not having the 2 vtec solenoids on it. mine has 2. i dont know if that makes a difference, but i thought id throw that in there. did plugs, wires, cap, and rotor button. havent swapped the distributor yet. i pray its not the head gasket.

two v-tec solinoid means you are very slow (well slower than ur average slow honda)
    v-tec-E FTL

HG on that car can be done in a few hour with a little patience.

U need to do a leak down test

slower than a b series, maybe, but other d-series (depending on mods), not necesarily. the 3 stage vtec is just as strong, if not stronger, than any other d-seriees vtec engine. the zc may give the d15b some comp, but it will be very close.

My GSR had a misfire code right after I purchased it. I ran a compression test and that cylinder was low. I had a valve that was very tight, so tight that I couldnt even get the smallest feeler gauge in there. Once I put it in spec, the compression test went up to specs as well and I cleared the code. Hasnt happened since.

If you have two Vtec solenoids your ARE going to be WAY slower. Unless your pushin about 30 psi.

Friend of mine just got rid of his CX with Vtec-E. It was the most gutless car I've ever driven. I have a D15b In my g/f's car to replace the Z6 that broke a rod. I've got the Z6 head on it, and it runs VERY well.

Check your timing. That was a problem we just had with a DA. If you've changed everything else you said you changed, that would be, aside from a leak down, one of the easiest things you could to do try and remedy it.
