    my friend gave me one of his old motors. i dont know what it came off of where can i go to check the vin.

    look on the engine cover should say what make
    yamaha,kawasaki honda, etc any pics/

    Enter the VIN's first few alphanumeric combo into Google, and see if it give you anything. If not, PM me the VIN and I'll see if I can tell you tomorrow.

    It's pre-1980, with a 12 digit VIN.
