    Default Engine noise

    ok i just started my car.. and its starting to make this popping noise. i popped the hood and i cant tell exactly where it is coming from.. its like a popcorn popping. wtf is it?!

    it sounds like your gunna have to take it apart... but was you giving it hell last night or what?? and its been cold outside lately and have you checked all your fluids? you need to switch over your oil since it getting cold outside

    Popping might be knock.

    If so that sucks. Sorry dude. Kind of a worst case scenario though.

    sounds like something is trashed or could be something broke dropped into the oil pan and is making contact making that noise.

    thats wat im thinking. because it does nto sound like a knock. it sounds like a bolt popping around. it does not pop every second as u can see in the video.. so im guessing and hoping that is it.

    When I spun Number 7 rod bearing in my Olds 307 that thing was echoing off houses... It was so loud. But I drove it hearing a faint knock for about 4 miles before reality set in. I was able to turn the crank .040 over which it the limit. And then I was able to put it together again.

    if that was the case a plug would have some damage on it. pull the plugs and look.

    a cust brought a car in to us and it was making a rattling noise similar to that and one of the bolts from the windage tray had come loose and tore some stuff up.

    have you changed the oil to see if you have any metal shavings/glitter in it?
