who makes the best tools?

so im crusing kmart today and they have a huge 30-50% off sale as the store is closing and im in the tool section and see all of these great deals on craftsman tools i need to upgrade my tools as the 64 pc socket set i got for xmas like 4 years ago is not enough to do most of the jobs on my cars so who do you think makes the best tools

Craftsman has failed me on several occcasions but their still good. I'd have to say Cobalt for air tools and Craftsman for hand tools. I don't know anything about Great Tool or whatever..... And Snap-on is alright.

I don't have any experience with other brand names but the Craftsman tools at my house has always taken care of the jobs done in the driveway/garage. Have only broken one piece (17mm short well socket).

I have a set of SAE and Metric S&K Sockets that are very good. Chrome is durable and they don't stretch. As far as Wrenches, Craftsman or Proto are pretty good. For Air tools, Cleco (Cooper Tools) are the best by far. You can get them aircraft surplus on ebay for a fraction of new price.

i say best tools for the price you say are craftsman, i havent had any problems and they get replaced for free. snap on ad matco are nice but priced high

snap-on makes the best hand tools period. thats why they are so expensive. if your tools make your money dont go cheap. if its a hobby, craftsmen will do just fine..

SK is the best for the money. They have the same free replacement policy as Snap-on at a fraction of the price and they have a complete line of specialty stuff. Quality is about the same between them too.

From what I've found the store brands are all about the same quality and they don't have a lot of the specialty stuff like bit sockets.

I have a craftsman electric impact that I use everyday, its great. But most of my tools are slowly changing to snap on and mac, as they break lol.

Snap On and MAC are all I use at the shop. When I'm at home on the occasional small job I'll use some of my Craftsman stuff.

It had already been said that if they make your money then go with snap-on or Mac. Their great to work with on warranty issues. Craftsman has a good return policy too at sears. Driveway and home garage work = craftsman

Seriously, if you rely on them daily you will find the faults in craftsman tools FAST. Plus, when you work at a dealer or shop, the tool guys will come to you, no need to go into a mall or outlet to get your socket replaced. No need to mention that craftsman toolboxes just cant hold up to shop abuse.

i wish i could afford snap on but i dont use them daily so thats why i cant say they break but i have had one break but one trip to sears and it was replaced

fixed. But snap on and Kobalt tools are great for shop use, SK are good for a general set at your house(same as craftsman). Sure its too late to help u chose tho lol.

My toolbox at work is full of Snap On , Matco, and Mac......however I do have some kobalt stuff. I owe the Matco guy 1k, Snap-on still owe 300 on new 1/2 impact. i have about 4-6k in tools in my box, and I am in need of a bigger box.

But round the house I use Craftsman. <----Can't go wrong with them.
