Default Car jerks, tranny problem?. help please.

    1992 prelude si. 5spd h22a.

recently the car started to jerk every now and then. the fluid is fine and no CEL. it feels like the tranny gets stuck for quick second. it happens in all gears at random times. it feels the worst in 1st gear. the car feels like its not in gear for a quick second, and goes back in gear and jerks really hard. can it be my clutch going bad? I noticed it happens a lot in low speed. 0-30. when i'm in highway it barely jerks and even if it does you can barely feel it.

does it grind a lot when you're trying to put it in gear? also, does the jerking happen in reverse or 5th gear?

honestly, something like this is hard to diagnose without actually being in the car. is it hard to physically put the shifter in 1st or 2nd gear? also, do you smell anything, like a burnt clutch smell after riding for a while??? try riding around for a bit (city speeds), and see if you can smell the clutch burning. i was thinking you might've had bad syncros, but it sounds a little more like a slipping clutch....maybe it keeps engaging/dis-engaging itself causing the car to jerk.

i drove for 2 hour straight before and i didnt smell anything weird from the car. It start becoming more frequent to jerk now. the jerk feels like when a newb driver doesn't gas enough with the clutch and makes that hard bump. When i'm driving it feels like the gear pops out real quick and goes back in. I think that is making the car Jerk really hard. can that be a bad clutch?

sounds to me like a burnt clutch .... or a bad throw out bearing .

Have to agree...the fact that it doesn't do it in reverse makes me kinda worried though. If it was the clutch it should do it even in reverse...if you really wanna test it, get some open area, put the car in reverse, let the clutch out all the way and get rolling, then just step on the gas and see if it does anything weird.

I can't imagine the transmission going bad so that the synchro's on every gear are bad...

My rides doin the same thing,Itll be in first or 2nd gear and it feels like 5th for a couple seconds then it kicks back in after it jerks.
First thing i thought of was Fuel system.
Im replacing my Fuel filter and pump,im thinkin its getting choked off.
Also a burnt clutch would grind.
Im having to replace my throw out bearing and my 2nd gear synchronizer.
